India Business Group Chamber of Commerce celebrated the International Women’s Day on the 6th of March at Su Casa in Bandra West, Mumbai
IBG felicitated notable top women celebrities Abha Singh (Lawyer and Social Activist), Sanyogita Atrey (Chairperson of 18Sg), Rekha Chaudhari (Global Wellness Ambassador for India), Mayra Johnson (NGO Activist), Elsie Gabriel (Global Speaker on Climate Change), Ildiko Halasz-Morovski (Hungarian Women Artist) and the Celeb Anchor & Ex-Miss India Simran Ahuja who also then narrated about their individual observation about the opportunities and challenges for the women of today.
Eminent philanthropist and author Vikash Mittersain released his book ‘My posts on Facebook’ amidst the glitterati who were present on the occasion.
“Today’s Indian women are empowered, confident and are safe as well as till the legislation doesn’t give equal rights in the property to the women, we shall take the issue much ahead. Our constitution has provided right to life to every individual in the country. I congratulate IBG for discussing the problems of women at this platform,” stated Abha Singh.
“In the field of education we have seen progress of women, but despite being 50% of the population their representation is just 11 % in the parliament. We need the women’s reservation bill to be implemented so that we have women leaders have a say in the legislation of our great nation. Still a lot needs to be done,” Abha Singh added.
“With the technological advancement in the daily lifestyle of today’s woman with latest innovations at her disposal, she is understanding the value of her own life. This reflects more in the case of a working woman. In the past era we had a handful women with the likes of Indira Gandhi and Sarojini Naidu, today we see many women achieving landmarks in several fields. I want the Indian Women to realize that they are not only strong, talented, beautiful and skilfull. They should understand their value and their potential – which in particular is unlimited,” observed Sanyogita Atrey, the Chairperson of 18Sg.
